Default Staggered Riding

Has anyone any comments or statistics on the saftey of groups riding in the staggered arrangement? There was an incident this week in a local area that took out 10 bikes at once.

Can anyone offer any good riding tips for groups of bikes to share.

New/lousyriders to the rear.

But I like riding alone, too much testosterone in one place leads to blood being spilled, it is the first rule of nature.
