No, its fine ..everyone experiences this time of year differently ..I feel it badly too, the almost complete loss of my family recently so although I love the quiet peaceful time, the stillness and time out ... it does evoke deep emotions within me and I long with all my heart to be back in time with them all again, alas it will never be .. I remember them and light candles for them ... its a wonderful time for families but some people feel their loneliest at this time ... the spirit is the most sensitive at this time

Got the tree up yesterday. I always get a real one. There's nothing like coming into the house after being out and smelling that hint of evergreen. It just smells like Christmas. Sorry the photograph is so poor.

Classic, You could go back a 100 years & more or less say the same thing, the methods of getting us to part with the reddies is just easier. But I do agree with though. I love Christmas day Aussie style. Many years ago my poor mother (& Aunties & Grandmother) trying to emulate our English heritage by cooking the traditional 'hot' chrissie dinner, usually on stinking hot 100 degree day (in the old money) which after we gorged ourselves, rendered most of us unconscious till we woke later, heading off to the beach (just like the other 99% of the population) to try out our new flippers & kickboards. These days we go for the colder style, prawns, prawns, thai style salads, prawns, cold meats & ok, some hot pudding (not with prawns). I love christmas day, I'm usually pissed by the time the 1st of our family arrive & well passed it by the time we eat (we have a big family), then rendered unconscious by the beer (& yes the heat), before being dragged off to the beach to watch the younger members of the family try out their new flippers & computerised & digitally controlled kick boards.

I like it. Not keen on getting it rammed down my throat by the TV and all that. Although, love to see my kids get hyper. I supose I just enjoy an opportunity to have friends and family around. Even when it does not mix well.

Haven't really 'celebrated' Christmas in a while. I mean, people still give me stuff, but it's not like i decorate and put a tree up you know?
