It really depends..It started on Wed. And schools are still closed tomorrow(monday). And our forecast says snow all day/night tomorrow. Then 30 degrees the rest of the week. So this stuff will stick around for awhile. Its gonna be a bad winter i think. 2 massive storms already..just into november.. Oh well, I will go rip the snowmobiles around for awhile. Make the best of a bad situation.

Well by the looks of the pictures, snowmobiles seem to be the only form of transportation.

We usually have snow by mid October, but nothing so far this year. The last storm I can remeber like that was about 20 years ago...and it was a spring storm. It basically shut everything down for a week. Blocked roads, power outages, people stranded everywhere. Just when it seemed like it would last forever it warmed up and melted.
I was wondering where winter was. Thanks for finding it for us! You can keep it if you like...Finders keepers!

lol NOOOO... you've obviously never lived in the north...
45" of snow is like 4.5" of rain, which is still a lot.

I think rule of thumb is rain~10x denser than snow.
This obviously can fluctuate depending on how wet/fluffy the snow is, etc.

i was figuring density, but you are correct, i have never lived in the north. south texas, born and raised! i think last time it even snowed here i was still in the womb, hahaha.

The greatest daily snowfalls in San Antonio for the last 40-45 years:
13.2 inches on 1-12-85
2.4 inches on 1-2-85
2.0 inches on 2-8-73
3.1 inches on 2-22-66
2.0 inches on 2-21-64
