Hello everyone just wanted to let you know, we arrived home late tonight and HC is kind of out of it. We had a setback after talking to second neurologist here in Georgia, what HC didn't tell you was they he has a acoustic neuroma, which is a tumor on the right side of his brain. It is operable and is only 2 cm in size it is a slow growing type of tumor and is something that can be treated. But he will most likely lose all hearing in his right ear. So there will be some serious fallout as far as careerwise, because of this. So he will be undergoing two surgeries. It was believed at first by him. The optical condition was more serious than the, acoustic neuroma, but this is the most serious of the two ailments the surgery to correct this problem was invented by a doctor Glasscock almost 20 years ago. And there is a entire wing at the Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee dedicated to this type of surgery. Dr. Glasscock is no longer performing the surgery himself but his office still handles these cases. We will be driving their tomorrow. HC has an appointment, there at 4 PM. We have seen five specialists in three states and would just like to say. The horror stories you may have heard about Walter Reed are so untrue. He is holding up, I guess the best he can under the pressure. They already have him on a couple of medications, and they are affecting him in not the best way. They have some very bad side effects, and he seems to be suffering most of them. I will encourage him to post something Monday evening or Tuesday, when we return home. I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your support. And I only wished I could find the words to express our true gratitude for your support. God bless you all

Thank you for the update Poet. Understand that there is not one of us that isn't hopeful for the best outcome for you and your family. I would imagine that HC is way too stubborn to have this setback get in his way. A man that is physically broken and carries his wife to safety has the strength of Sampson mentally, spiritually, and physically. Godbless...

He is a physically strong man, and mentally tough. I will agree, and I believe his spirits would be better if the medication he was on wasn't causing such bad side effects. He is suffering from nausea, dizziness and headaches. I have also noticed he has slept more in the last week than he ever has. And he has been working constantly with the Marine Corps on his long-term future. And there are other things happening with what I can only call his personal project, which is about as much as I know about it. Thatneeded to be ironed out. But I am a true believer, that when one door closes another one will open.

In a few minutes I'll have exactly 35 birthday wishes--every single one of them will be for you.

He is strong and will find away through it to become even better than before. My thoughts are with you both. Keep your heads held high!

Man, I don't know what to say about your situation man. What do/can you say?

The best I can come up with is that you're in my prayers and I hope things work out for you as well as a heartfelt "Thank You" for your service to our great country.
