Serious Problem, No Jokes Please
Not exactly sure where to begin, but I'm going to try to keep this in plain English as a condition of returning to regular duty. I have to undergo a full exam as part of that is a eye exam. Now several years ago, while engaged in a firefight in a sandstorm. I'd lost my eye protection as a result. I suffered lacerations and permanent scarring on my left eye. I have a very small blind spot right out of my direct field of view. In my left eye. Now just about the time of my motorcycle accident. I had come to realize, if I closed my left eye. The sight in my right eye was blurry and cloudy the optometrist examined me yesterday and determined that there was nothing wrong with the eye itself and wanted me to see a neurologist immediately. So before lunch yesterday I was in a neurologist office. He sent me over to have an MRI done with , without contrast and some other testing and he wanted to see me back on Friday. Well early this morning, his office called and said that he needed to see me. Right away, and he had a nother doctor who going to consult at the same time. So to cut to the chase after they looked me over and looked over the test results. I was told in layman's terms. I have a enlarged blood vessel pressing on my right optical nerve and the condition was serious. It was possible that it could rupture, and I would die fairly quickly he said sometimes these are operable and sometimes they're not. I needed to see a specialist in this area. So we are preparing to catch a flight in about three hours to see a specialist tomorrow afternoon. Needless to say swt poet is beside herself we both have come to accept the fact that there is a certain amount of risk. In my chosen profession, but we both have always felt I had some amount of control over the outcome regardless of the environment. And of course, this is beyond any control. I have no idea where my life goes from here, little alone my career. Hell I'm just venting and trying to get a grasp on what is happening. It is moving very fast

Hold fast. You are probably used to making all the decisions that directly affect your outcome, but in this case, you need to lean on those that support you. I would hope that you are able to see beyond the worst case scenario. Please keep us posted...

You're not going any where man. Always, always get more than one opinion.
I know for a weak artery/vein, they can put in a sleeve inside of it to strengthen it. I wonder if they can release the preasure, then put a sleeve on the outside?
Did you never get an MRI when the accident happened?
Keep us updated.

Best wishes for a good outcome on this HC.
Doesn't sound like there's much you can do or decide until you get further results other than keep your spirits up. Dwelling on it won't do anything for you or her and I'm not in your shoes so it's easier said than done but I would do everything I could to not think about it too much .. see a movie or whatever takes your minds off it .. and I won't disrespect your wishes but laughter imo really is the best remedy in serious situations that you have no control over. Prayers are with you. STAY POSITIVE.
