Hey all im a newbie to the site but not to bikes i had a 04 600 rr but now own a 2001 erion racing 929 been riding about 2 yrs now so anyway yesterday my buddy and i went out for a ride here in sunny florida i live in miami so it was beautiful out where going down colins in south beach and this guy pulls up next 2 us and asked if he could ride with us so where like yea im always looking for new people to ride with we decide where gonna head downtown so we begin to take route about half way there i notice the guy is gone i figured maybe he just decided to leave turns out he crashed and died i dont kno what to make of it i mean he was following us and ended up crashing into the back of a honda accord my buddy said we should have known he was unexperienced he was on a 600 rr i feel almost as if i had something to do with this kids death but at the sametime each to his own what do you guys think????

Unfortunately things like that happen, I wouldn't blame yourself, we are all responsible for our own actions and dicesions, BUT there are very few if any things we can do about STUPID cagers that don't look. If you feel anything it might be sadness, I hope not responsiblity, for the loss of another human being.

Wow man, I'm sorry you had to go through that. That is very unfortunate. Its human nature to feel guilty about some freak occurence like that, but like the others said, that's not something that you could have controlled. Keep your head up.

not your fault at all if he crashed in to someone it was his fault it would make me feel bad if i was in the same situation but dont beat your self up over it

That sucks. I have rode in a group once and they counted before we went and then counted again at every stop. But like the others said. It is not your fault.

The best advice I ever got when I first rode with guys that were more experienced than me was 'don't try to keep up, we'll wait for you down the road'. He probably was riding faster than his ability and got himself out of sorts, couldn't think fast enough and didn't know how to lean into a turn that well.
