RIP beautiful green 08 sorry you had to be sold to a NOOB
As long as the dealer sold a bike fit for purpose, they should have no further involvement in the incident (morally at least) - the rider is responsible for their own actions. I hate litigious societies where people try to squirm out of their responsibilities, and legal systems that allow it!
I'm new to this forum so excuse me for butting in, but how is it the dealerships fault or how is the dealer to blame at all? They are there to sell bikes, not hold themselves morally responsible for selling fast machines to an unskilled public (grant it not all of us are unskilled but let's face it, I don't ride a 1000 because I don't need one).
For example, I bought my '03 F4i in March of 2007 and I laid it down in 12 hours of owning it. (Hit a patch of gravel on an off ramp in the middle of a hard banked right hand turn and slid through the grass median.) The next morning I showed up at the dealer needing parts to fix it. I wasn't a noob by no means but I wasn't used to this particular bike. I had owned a '96 ZX600R ninja before the CBR and heck they are two totally different bikes. I didn't blame anyone but myself or maybe the road construction crew for leaving gravel but at the end of day, the $1300 for fairings and such came out of my own back pocket.
Sorry didn't mean to keep rambling on but I'm glad the rider survived. But in no way is it the dealers responsibility to ensure new riders are going to be safe. Look at how most people obtain a driver's licensce. A short drive around the block here in Tennessee and pass a written test and that's it. No wonder there are so many idiots on the road.

If in fact the time lapse was that short, then he was gonna crash whether he was on a liter, 600 or 250...Had on full gear, just a jacket and helmet, or flip flops and sunglasses. Noobs are noobs no matter what the circumstances
So to call this guy a noob solely because he may have been on a larger bike my be slightly off.
...Cause I am pretty sure if this guy did ride off the lot with proper warnings, full gear, and a 250...and crashed in 15 minutes, I am sure he would have been called a NOOB anyway.

I might be wrong but isnt this an 09 for one? Also I find it very hard to believe that the dealer sold a brand new bike with a two brothers exhaust on it, and 15 mins come on no one is really that stupid are they... Eh I take that back that are really stupid people out there. My buddy drop his bike in the dealership parking lot. But this bike looks like he would be in two pieces. Did you know this guy or did you hear the story from the great vine?

The color is 09, I only can guess they changed the pipe for em b4 he took delivery.
If this story is true, and if the buyer was honest with the salesman about being a new rider, then the salesman should not have sold him that bike. Come on people, we are here to take care of each other, if that means not selling a particular bike to someone because you KNOW they are not ready for it then so be it. Commission or no commission! I will assume the buyer was young, let's all try some guidance for our fellow riders. I hope you guys calling him an idiot never find yourselves in his position, however, if I'm around I'll pick you up and brush you off and not make any rediculous statements; untill we can laugh about it of course, then it's no holds barred. Just my thoughts!
