riding in the rain

RE: riding in the rain
further to all the above, rain after long dry spells make the roads super slippery ( described elsewhere as the froth) your brakes will take a little longer to bite, and to avoid front end wash outs use more back brake (on a sports bike 60 to 70% front rather than the 90% front in the dry.) To avoid fogging up buy some antifog or smear a little washing up liquid inside ( it will look smeary but you will still be able to see something ??!)

DT !!!!!!!! Like ice???/!!!!!! We've got webs between our toes, up here in the GPNW, we don't tan we rust !!!!!!!! It really a matter of experience... slow comming, if rain is seldom... more availible, if rain, a regular feature of location. There really is ample traction availible in the wet... but it is way slicker, till that nasty froth is washed away. Oily lane centers, fluid spills, are nasty... but out right general traction, really ain't too bad... honest !!!!!! It really is a fantastic place, to sharpen those "smooth" skills, that make me, much faster in the dry too. I encourage everyone... to find a clean/ non oily road, to practice a few practice stops, to see just how much traction, is really availible. No stomp'n on the brakes, no stoppies, a nice reasonable ride, up some twistys, on a road your familiar w/. It's really fun!!!! it takes the terror, out of "getting caught out in it", if you try and practice reasonably first. Clean and free, Ripp'n
