Default Registering issues... Advice appreciated

Hey all needed some advice on what to do about registering my bike. I purchased it a few months ago and they are now getting back to me about how they need some more info for my title transfer. One being my engine number (my fault put a diff number on there whooops) the other was they are all pissy because I said I bought the bike for 1g (really 2,500). Now I either have to give them the sales tax for what it is worth 5.5k or something around there or show them through pictures why I got it for the price I did and the reasoning. So far I already changed the tire on it but not sure if that counts as non normal wear and tear. Biggest thing was its gonna need pretty much all new plastics (actually planning on bondoing the two cracks and repainting) and also a few other scrapes and bruises on the engine cover, clutch cover, and other parts. Any advice would be great and thanks in advance for the help.

Strip it to frame, forks, engine and airbox. Take a picture.

Here in Missouri the minimum tax on a clean title car is $500, a bike is $1200 but we also have rebuilders titles in which you can pay the tax on it's proposed future worth (kbb) and simply take the title in when you're finished and they hand you a plate after you pay any taxes ($0.07 on the dollar for every one year it is under, "rebuild" status to a maximum of like $150 or something.

Strip the front fairings/headlights off. That ought to make it plenty ugly.

Go to the local stealership and get a parts list with prices for all the repairs that would be needed (even an estimate for them to do the work) and that should off set the price dramatically.

Exactly. They got the tax money from the bike the first time it was sold. There's no reason to have to pay taxes on a vehicle/bike multiple times. You put what ever you want down and dont blink an eye.

Awesome advice, never thought of that.

As I said earlier, in Missouri we have, "minimums." It's rare you'll get in miss goody-two-shoes line, but if you do, she'll question you. Most of them simply go on about their business.

I ****ing hate paying for something I own. It's bull**** and yet again another way for the government to collect more information on you all in the name of taxes. Bitch if I'm paying your *** every year for taxes (which sounds to me like paying off a co-owner),they better well perform some of the cleaning and pay for some of the maintainence of the bike... right? Only fair from what I see...

If anyone was ever curious as to why I never get my bikes registered... this is why. it's bull**** and yeah maybe someday I'll stop being stubborn and do what I'm told but for now I'm standing my ground. Time to move to the hills and off the grid...
