you gotta try the towel trick before you send it off... I've seen it work more than once
yea i saw the video tutorial on youtube, but isnt that just a temporary fix?
I swear it worked for good formy friend... he called Xbox and they said it would be something that would be a 4-6 week turnaround to mail it in... so we looked online and found the towel trick. Did it that night, and it has never stopped since.
thats good enough for me, the less time it takes for me to get it working again, the better

The really long paragraph sounds correct.

Microwave sounds better than the towels.

I've also noticed a bunch of people's 360's failing after playing Madden '08. I believe there's a download for it, maybe its fudging something up.

People just dont realize how powerful the 360 is. You got all that goodyness crammed in a tiny box. Of course its gonna get hot. My pc gets hot and its in a nice open case.

Once I get one, I'm gonna water cool it.

I have been told by a CSR at MS that ALL 360s, refurbs or already manufactured ones sitting in warehouses are being pulled out and the cooling system is being replaced by a new one. They are having to retrofit every one. So even if you buy a new 360 from best buy that was manufactured last year, it is technically now a refurb since it has been opened.

Just got mine back. Hopefully I won't go poo again before I get my hands on Halo 3! [sm=groupwave.gif]
Why do you want to wait to go poo? That doesn't sound very healthy...

if anyone is looing to buy a 360, wait for a bit. Microsoft is ditching the current motherboard design (v1.1 Codename Zephyr) and should have the next generation motherboard availble by the end of the year. The current mobo used 90nm technology and the HDMI mobo (1.0 had no HDMI). The next gen mobo, Codename Falcon, uses 65nm technology. That basically means it uses smaller components that generate less heat. Falcon was supposed to be out by now, but as usual, there have been delays. It has been confirmed though that it should arrive by the end of the year. Kinda pisses me off because I wanted to get Halo 3 and the Falcon mobo 360 at the same time. Now I gotta wait.

Also, the Falcon mobo supposed has the fixes needed to get rid of the RRoD. I can only assume they did better solder jobs, or replaced the solder pins with standard pins on the GPU.
