Replacement plan at Best Buy. I've replaced it 3 times now (recently replaced it with an Elite because they were out of Premiums), and never paid for any of the replacements. Worth every penny. Just don't tell Best Buy you got the "red rings of death" because they'll refer you to Microsoft to get it fixed. Just tell them it doesn't read the discs anymore, or it doesn't eject, etc.

 

Just got mine back. Hopefully I won't go poo again before I get my hands on Halo 3! [sm=groupwave.gif]

If you have a real failure, you need to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX. The email support will just ultimately refer you there anyways.

How long did it take you to get yours back voodoo? I just found out my hard drive went kaput, it works sometimes, but wont play some games. So I have to call and get it replaced.

 

yea i saw the video tutorial on youtube, but isnt that just a temporary fix?

 

I'd suggest doing what Blue Fox says.

I've had problems with other electronics before and if you tell them the truth they give you the run around or the works (shippage etc),

BUT

If you just say the "dam*" thing is dead you get a brand new replacement ASAP while you're in the store.

 

I swear it worked for good formy friend... he called Xbox and they said it would be something that would be a 4-6 week turnaround to mail it in... so we looked online and found the towel trick. Did it that night, and it has never stopped since.
