Is perforated leather really going to keep me cool enough?

I don't have the money for two jackets right now. Originally I was going to go with a mesh jacket, but it made me a little uneasy.. I figured perfed leather is a compromise between leather and mesh.

now i'm pimpin the joe rocket honda cbr jacket and when it's super hot i'll use my mesh jacket
I have a JR perforated leather jacket and its not bad and I live in GA lol. Only time it got so hot I couldnt stand it was in stop n go in traffic with 99º+ temps. I'm in CT a few tymes a year, you should be fine.
You are lucky that you don't live herein Sunny El Paso tx. 116 deg.in thesummer, some times hotter, but not as hot as Phoenix Az.[sm=badbadbad.gif]
I know how hot it gets in Texas, but here on the east coast of Africa it's sub-tropical, so we get 100+ temps PLUS 90% humidity, so most of us only use leather in the winter. Most guys here use perforated, vented armoured textile jackets in summer - I still believe in old-fashioned leather - some jackets have perforations and some have zipped vents, front and rear, to help with airflow. The new jackets are much lighter than my Frank Thomas kit, but as has been said, I'd also rather sweat than bleed...
