RE: parking ticket
Everyone on bikes always parks in the yellow striped area at work, they don't really like it but we work 3rd shift and they only say something in the morning as we're leaving. I always see bikes parked in the striped area though at buisnesses (SP) and never hear of any problems. I would like to find out if they will acutally give a ticket though.

RE: parking ticket
that's crazy cause i live in kansas and the other day i stopped at work (best buy) and i parked in the yellow striped lines next to the handicapped spot but not on it. i went inside for about 5 minutes and when i came out there was a lady taking pics of my bike and writing my plate down. i confronted her and she told me she worked for the city and that her job was to turn in anyone parked in an illegal area. this is the first time i had ever heard of this. i'm still waiting to see if i get a ticket in the mail or what? any ideas of how to get out of it if i do get it? any idea how much that costs?

RE: parking ticket
she was actually taking pics of your bike? lol.. damn! well i've heard that exact same thing. i was at the barber shop the other day and there's a cop in there too. all the barbers in the shop are bikers (mostly crotch rockets but some cruisers). anyway the topic came up and the cop said the striped area is actually part of the handicapped spot so if you park there it's like parking in the handicapped spot... $100 fine! he also added that most cops (here anyway) don't make a big deal about it but if they wanted to they could ticket your a$$!! i'm not parking there anymore. if i get a ticket it better be for speeding and NOT parking

RE: parking ticket
But what about when the striped area isn't located by any handicap parking spot? They don't have any designated place to park the bike at work or at any buisness around here so I guess I'll just park where I want to until the cops start ticketing me. I don't really see how they can have a problem with where you park as long as you aren't being an a$$ about it.
