Default Paying a parking ticket down under

Isn't this in Seb's neck of the woods?

Love the way he shoves it all over.

Yes it is!

This made the papers down here a couple of days ago. The payment method was rejected by the council as although the 5 cent coins are legal tender, you do not have to accept payment of more than $5 of 5 cent coins in any one transaction.

So can he go back and pay in all 10 cent coins? That's what I would do.

Coin of the realm. It should spend as well as paper

A bit of civil disobedience, but I don't blame the man at all.

Had to deal with the USDA on a minute by minute daily basis for more than 4 years.

Over officious bureaucrats irk me to no end

I agree 100%. And judging from what I've heard about Aus and their traffic/parking laws, I can see myself doing that.

Too right 'Trout.

I don't go into the city anymore - it is full of expensive parking spots guarded by a particularly virulent Gestapo - and not the nice kind!

And they wonder why no-one goes to shop in the city anymore.

Mrs SB copped a $40 parking fine mere days ago.

As Ken G and Sprock would say....................eeedjits!

Cheers, SB

I know I've never heard of anyone in the states getting pulled over for too many passengers under 21. Do they just make this stuff up? Lol..
Or for a high-beam violation?
And the fines seem ridiculous, too. As if your taxes weren't bad enough. I couldn't believe the cost of vehicle registrations and licensing over there. I pay $18/yr to register my bike (plates and everything) and it's $10/yr for my license. Inspections are $20-30.
It's almost like they don't want anyone to own a car/bike over there.
I think I'd be flipping out all the time and throwing nickels at everybody. Lol..

That's exactly why they took all of our guns off us a few years back.....

That makes sense. Lol..

Btw, I just looked up a few of my state laws to make sure nothing has changed.
I can still drive around with an ar15 while talking on my cell phone and not wearing my seat belt, so I'm good.

I was chuckling at the helmet laws, though. Not really the motorcycle law (you don't need a helmet here), but rather the bicycle helmet law.
You only need a helmet if you're under 12yrs old, and you can get a $25 fine for not wearing one.
BUT, if you buy a helmet before your court date, you can show them the receipt and they'll toss out the fine. Lol...
My state is brilliant.
