I find it kinda funny when I look at the weather and see that it is going to be in the high 40's / low 50's and think... THANK GOD!! It*s like jaynd said, there is a lot of effort spent on getting yourself out of the wind. Ride safe and stay warm Jared. Enjoy the time with your family too!

 

Usually for trips like this, I just use a tail bag, tank bag, and if needed, a backpack on top of the tailbag. I'm not taking a whole lot, and not taking my laptop this time like I usually do, so I may just be able to fit everything in the tail bag and tank bag

 

My roomate and his mom are watching her..... they already have 3 dogs of their own so Ms Piggy just kinda blends right in, hahaha

Made it safe n' sound to my dads house in Decatur.... man it's freakin cold here!!! hahahaha. Only thing that got cold on me was my feet.... everything else was fine. I think alot of it though is that I'm wearing steel toe boots, and the steel plates turn into ice cubes on your toes after about 30 miles or so. Kinda weird though, I got a huge blister on my right hand right below my 2 middle fingers, apparently from my heated grips. I don't know if it got a little too hot or just holding onto it from 7:15 am until 8 pm (with a few breaks in between) and it was too much heat for my skin to handle or what (I did have the grip heaters on the entire way up).... kinda weird, and never happened before

I'll tell ya, soon as I got here my dad and I went over to Culvers to get some food. Got in his Envoy and turned the heated seats on high.... ohhh man did that feel good, LOL. I almost fell asleep!

Enough ramblings from me.... hope everybody has a great turkey day!! Those who are travelling, safe travels I'm headed up to my moms near Chicago tomorrow for the rest of the week
