Yea I'm sure I won't go all the way to Chicago in a one day trip. I'll just go to my dads house the first night... that's only about 700 miles and I can do that in one day easily. If I leave here at 7am I get there around 6 pm. But Chicago is another 3 hours farther north from there, and I probably won't feel much like doing that. I'll be fine though... got lots of warm clothes I tried it out early this morning, double thermals on top and bottom, double socks, my fleece lined hoodie, and the leather jacket with the liner. Then my insulated gloves and heated grips. It was 28 when I left this morning, and my upper half was actually almost hot! I didn't have my leather pants on, but my legs weren't really cold, just could have been warmer. I'll be fine though.... you'll never get used to riding in the cold if you don't go out and do it, and find out what needs to be done to make it warmer

i find that you really do get used to it, when you do it. you find ways to position your feet, which reposition how your legs hug the fairings and you just find ways to stay warmer and have less wind hitting you. although this was easier on my F4i b/c it had more side fairings than my RR.

Hey McFly.... you gonna be around at all?? I'm gonna be leaving to go back from my dads place in Decatur, and it's a straight shot across I-74/I-70 into Columbus... only about 5 hrs. Then a straight shot home from there too (if I might be able to borrow your couch for a night)

Let me know if you want to meet up... definitely not a problem here, it's not like I have a job to get back to or anything, hahaha. I think there's a couple other people on CBRF from Columbus too

 

Thats going to be a long ride! I got no clue on riding during a cold weather. How's the road condition going to be? Wet and misty?

Any luggage thirdgen ? Is it going to be a backpack, tank top or rear bag? I hate riding with any of those anyway. Feels like my movement will be restricted
