Oh-my-god, guys you should have been here yesterday. I was late at work and driving home at approx 20:30. The moon was incredibly bright! I could drive with my headlights turned off with no problem (tried it for a few seconds...) Man, the scenery on the bridges connecting the Pulkkila-ridge was just phenomenal! The second I got home I grabbed our dog and my wife to the other hand and my camera to the other and headed straight back- only to find out my camera cannot take pictures with so little light...

BUT, I found a few really incredible photo-opps that I`m gonna go see during daylight next saturday, for example a totally frozen tree next to the rapid of the Virtaa-powerdam, and some "frozen waterfalls" coming down from rock-walls in the side of a motorway. Pics to come if get usable footage. Gotta do something to keep me occupied for 2-3 months...

This was the only usable picture I got. The others were really dark and/or noisy... Like the kinda eery feeling of it. It is the bridge of the powerdam, and it goes over the shutter-gates so the rapid and the tree is just to the right of it. Hope it`s sunny saturday to get good pics!

Oh, and the temperature record was broken again a few days ago at Kaamanen, Inari. The new record is -42,7c (-44,86f!!!)

The moon was beautiful here last night too, I drug my husband out of the shop just to look at it.

That snow covered bridge is amazing. I'm still don't now sure how you deal with the cold. It is 487F (8c) here right now and I'm shivering and I'm inside. I can't wait to get on my bike to warm up.

You get used to it...kinda... When it has been like -25c for a week and the temp rises to near 0c you`re tossing your jacket off... It`s not nearly that cold here that`s up there in lapland. Only -20c here... Just came back in from walking our dog and put a charger to my car`s battery so it would start after a while... As a truck-entrepeneur (?) the biggest pita to me in this weather is nothing works. The cockpit won`t warm up properly, Pneumatics freeze, hydraulic fluid is like syrup, electrics fail, heck, even Diesel freezes if it`s not the expensive arctic grade, it`s slippery as **** etc etc...

I`m not a big fan of winter, or at least snow. It`s beautiful to watch, but causes a wide variety of problems...

Im in Ontario Canada and I dont even have snow right now.
Hm, go figure... I always thought the weather would be somewhat similiar there and here, although now that I checked, you seem to be a little south from here, propably just enough... I googled ontario just a second ago, and besides all the waterfalls that came up, the scenery here and there seems to be roughly similiar. No wonder there`s so much finnish people living in Canada. Even found this:

You go a couple hours in pretty much any direction from me and they have snow. I sit within the lake effect coming off lake ontario so kingston to toronto has no snow. Head to ottawa and they have 2 feet. Weird how it works

It actually snowed here yesterday! It melted as soon as it hit the ground but it was very pretty as it was falling. Now it is raining and tomorrow it will be 76F, that's Texas weather for ya.
