NEWBIE MISTAKES!!!!
I hit the starter button and I'm like, why is my horn not working? Or shift into 1st with the kick stand down, which kills the motor.
I have done everything listed here once or twice...helmet strap, kickstand, horn, blinkers...it happens to everyone...we are all only human and prone to make mistakes.

This is a long one, see bottom for quick summary,
I might as well add mine since it just happened yesterday. So I just bought a 2006 Honda CBR1000RR yesterday and was riding it home while my wife followed behind me in the car. Everything was going great for the first half hour until we came upon a train while it was crossing. It was moving pretty slow and after I had stopped, I put the kick stand down, turned the bike off and walked to my wife's car to tell her where we were going next. Well, I went back to the bike, saw the train had finished and the cars in front of me were beginning to move so I started the bike up and when I shifted into first gear it would turn off. I repeated this two more times and then tried second gear, still cutting off. With impatient people behind us I walked the bike into a nearby drive way to figure out what the problem was. After walking it into the drive way my front tire went over the side of the pavement into the grass. I then realize my kick stand is still down and that's the cause of all my problems. Fully embarrassed and feeling like a complete idiot I tried backing the bike up but the ledge on the drive way was too steep to get the front tire back onto pavement. I was using all my might to pull it backwards, and on my third attempt it starts to go down on my left side. I'm thinking, oh no, this isn't going to happen, but once it starts falling down on top of you, it's real hard to stop it. So now the bike is laying on my left leg at the edge of this strangers drive way and I'm super mad since it's my first day with the bike. I get out from underneath it and lift it up too quickly and it begins to fall the other way. So now I pull the bike up and get it upright and steady again. At this point my wife came running over and I was sitting on it, feeling extremely embarrassed and really mad. So she helps me get both tires back onto the drive way and the rest of the trip home was uneventful. What a bad start... I have a tiny scratch on the crank case and was wondering if you can just buff it out. It's so minuscule that you can't even feel a scratch only see a little white on the metal where a rock kinda went across its surface.

No brother they thank most Marines write like that. I usually put something like this in my post for those with short attention spans. Don't bother, you won't get it. But welcome aboard Semper Fi
heheh did most of the nooob mistakes but how about pressing the horn in a garage while trying to go for the ignition switch and needless to say i got a good pain in the ears and sceared the hell out of me.. good thing it was just me in there but i still find it funny
riding with boots with long shoe strings and went to put my foot down and ya it was stuck around the ankle plate so the bikes leaning and my foot myswell not of been there. thank god for the curb cuz i was able to step on it and catch my self.... lol then i had to get off (at red light) tie my shoe and as soon as i get back on my buddies take off so of course im trying to get goin fast and i put it in gear and forgot i had the kick stand down. put the kick stand up and start it again. the d4#ks behind me were beeping the horn and made me nervous and i stalled it.....the car behind me passes me moments later and its like two girls both smokin and of course laughing at me :-( haha i can laugh at it now though.
+1 more to the down shifting to much while moving to fast. ive done that a couple time.(cuz i forget wut gear im in) and my rear tire goes for a ride...pretty scary!!!
