Default New Honda model?

I was just doing my daily car news browsing when i came across this article about honda which i was about to ignore since all i saw was "civic type-r....fit-based CUV" buuuuut then the last 3 words caught my attention.

According to the press release from the CEO...

"Super sports motorcycle

Honda is developing a new super sports motorcycle. Technologies from Honda's MotoGP machines will be applied to this model. This bike will seek to deliver the same passion and excitement that the RC30 (VFR750R) super sports bike created when first introduced in 1987."

Sooo rc51 successor? A 750cc middleweight to compete with the gsxr750 and ducati 848? Orrr just a limited edition bike they want to make for a year or two maybe.

And the full article

Yeah, it's gonna be an RC60 or something. Supposedly "Ito" or whatever his name is has confirmed it. I've read articles on it in a few different publications and all they really have down solid is that the project has been green lit. So far the rest is just speculation. People are speculating it's a 1000cc V4.

If it is a 1000cc V4 and it is under $30,000 I will own one.

It will be a 1000cc so they can use it as a claimer engine in MotoGP. My f4i, RR, one of my trucks and some of my guns will be sold if it will get me this bike. I NEED IT!!!!

LOL, indeed. It's about time they released another RC bike, though. The glory of the RC51 has somewhat faded and a lot of today's generation has never even heard of anything besides the CBR lineup. AFAIK, Honda's sales numbers (US and Asia anyways) have been pretty decent these last couple years so let's hope that Honda's willing to go a couple years of losing money on marquee bike.

In the meantime I'll be heavily anticipating the new bike and saving some money up for a down payment and track skins.

Any "RC" successor had better be worthy is all I can say. ;-) Yes, I'm an RC51 owner. :-)
