I've always thought the 400cc class of sport bikes was perfect. I find the 600 class boring as hell on the street, and can't imagine what you 1000cc folks get up to.

This said - this 250cc is supposed to be a thumper, where kawi has the parallel twin. I don't see honda winning the hp war of the 250 class -- and that will mean you won't see many being raced in the 250 class.

But -- unlike Kawi -- honda has nothing between their 125cc bike and their 600cc bike. This adds something in the middle.

Remember in Canada Kawi now has the 250cc, the 400cc, the 650cc and then the regular 600/1000cc class bikes.

 

If they do I hope they keep the look nice and price down. It definitely has to be comparable or more than a Kawasaki. As far as bikes go even tho I don't even own one my heart is stuck with Honda. Something about them drives them to me. So if they were to come out before I got the money for a bike I might consider it bc it'd be new WITH a warranty of some Kim rather then nothing and it'd be presumably cheap.

the CBR250 is raced and can be bought in race trim directly from Honda!

 

I just wish someone would make a 250 with a big frame. If I could get a bike that had a 250r motor in my f4's body, I would have bought that. Part of the reason I bought my f4 and not a ninja 250, is that i wouldn't fit on a 250 at all.. 6'0 200lbs..

I thought the CBR125R was pretty slick they have overseas....That would be an awesome gas saver! I think Honda just thinks that us Americans always want the biggest and fastest at everything so they dont market it here.

how much smaller would you say the 250r (you have the ninja right?) is than a f4/f4i/rr? (there aren't any kawasaki dealers around where I live so I can't compare)

If it isn't much smaller, I would def consider picking up a used 08+ for my next bike...

 

You're not gonna like the step down brother. Unless you want them for differant purposes and plan on keeping them both I'd stick with the 600.

If you want one for a track bike or a commuter and one for weekend twisties then that's a little differant.

 

Honda does not have the CBR250 here anymore, although interestingly they still sell the VTR250 V twin (God I'd wish they would bring out a 600-800cc version) & the CBR125 & the workhorse CD 250 twin.
Reason being that we changed our "Learner' rules no longer based on the capacity (in our case 250cc) but on the horsepower. So a lot of learners are going for bigger bikes that are on the approved list, (Some bikes have limiters, so that after they get their full license, can be removed. Saving $$'s on upgrading to a bigger bike).
The choice for learners is much better now, like this gorgeous 400 (with ABS).
Their are a lot of bike dealers selling "Gray" imports for learners (used bikes legally imported) & the choice is pretty mouth watering. This link:http://motorcycles-for-sale.com.au/u...s_per_page=100
