Default Nervous anticipation

Yolanda had it out with Mother Nature and whipped the b!tch in line. It's 50, sunny and no snow in sight. Yolie even made Mother Nature cry a bit last night so the salt / brine residue is off the street.

So now Yolie is sitting on the street demanding to be ridden to work. Her 1st real ride (25 miles). I have to admit feeling a bit nervous, higher heart rate and rapid breathing. Even being leashes to 7k rpm, this'll be the first real peek at both a liter's and BMW's rumored power. I suspect I'll be grinning all day

oh... My... God

I think I found religion! Yolie on the highway is a completely different animal than going around the block! And she makes Ororo feel like a kitten with an attitude problem!

I know my brakes are good on Ororo but Yolie wanted to throw me over the bars if I just glanced at the brake. WHY HAVENT YOU PEOPLE TOLD ME ABOUT SLIPPER CLUTCHES AND QUICK SHIFTS?!? And I found myself having to short shift to get thru the gears. Easily blows past the highway speed limit in 1st. And she pulls like a horse... stapled to a NASCAR!

I probably had the same nervous problem with my 600 when I started riding. You will be taming her to your liking in no time. You are much better than me to do that

I want a S1000 so bad now, maybe in a few years, I just got the F4i last spring so I'd more than likely get myself killed on a 1000.

I'm sure you'd be fine. In many ways they are easier to ride then 600s, esp Kuros bike with all its gadgets... (not that I've ridden one)

Back home and yes I'm still smiling! I honestly am having trouble describing it. I mean how do you say the power delivery is smooth but when i crack the throttle, she leaps forward like an animal pouncing? And that's with 'nanny mode' fully engaged.

Right now, I have her in Rain mode which limits the engine to a paltry 150hp and uses the traction control at Max. She's in dire need of a suspension setup and my previously "OK" throttle control sucks with Yolie. Won't even mention braking. But the nanny 'nuh-uh' only once so I'm satisfied.

Now I've got to find someplace to setup the suspension. She doesn't feel right, too stiff.
