my solution is this: i have a guy coming to look/buy the bike. if he offers in the 600~ range (assuming he still wants to buy it at a discounted price because it still runs fine), i will take it, and make the roommate own up to the 400~ difference.

think that is a reasonable offer?
im trying not to screw anyone over, and honestly it sucks but its not the end. i still have multiple bikes so its not like i cant ride.
I think if i cant sell it now, it becomes his winter project of fixing.

That sounds reasnible.... I hope your roommate owns up and pays... I would hide all the keys to the rest of your bikes from now on though..

Yuppers, if that's what you valued it at before, having him cough the difference is
definetly fair. I also agree that the one responsible is ultimatly your room-mate not
the guy that wrecked it. He can't pass on his responsibility for the poor decision that
allowed this to happen.

+1 to Sumone, too. Especially without a license, one shouldn't
lend bikes to nubes without supervision.

Hope this works out, without losing a friend or money.
Good luck, Ern

dang dude thats harsh... your roomate and his friend are both at fault though... even though you gave him permission to ride it you never gave his friends the right to... they need to split the costs and fix it...

word.
ive been pretty lax about it.
but they told me they didnt wanna replace the expensive parts with expensive ones (aka not a new zero grav, but a 30.00 cheaper one, cause "its the same")

that kinda stuff is where the hardass comes out.

Vicarious Liability-your roommate is responsible for taking it and letting someone else ride it, actually the squid who wrecked it is and should be man enough to offer to pay for it. It is MOVEMBER.

Untrue... if you don't buy a Zero Gravity Windscreen, your bike will still run the same and if you buy a $135 windscreen, your bike will still run the same.

but what im saying is, i lost value in the bike.
unless they make up for it in cash, it sells (most likely) for less.

a ****ty windscreen half broken vs a brand new zero grav.
that affects a sale for me.
