Go to ebay, pick up a couple old clocks - mechanical, tick-tock type - and make them run. You can get into woodwork repairing and refinishing the cases, mechanical work taking the gear train apart, cleaning and replacing bushings, springs, etc.. And when you're done with one it can be displayed, given as a gift or sold. Requires precision, attention to detail. Not sure about creativity.
