how much is your skull really worth??? or hers??? you buy the best bike you can afford....don't you think your head deserves the same??? I did a head shot into a windshield at 30 mph when a moron just pulled out.....I walked away from it WITHOUT a concussion SHOEI X11....there is no substitute. it amazes me that bikes shops even sells some of the helmets they do. stick with a real name.....Shoei....Arai....HJC....Icon...names even one knows and has used. NEVER cheap out on saftey......it is SO not worth it.

Well, since this post was dredged up. I think as long as the helmet has the Snell and DOT stickers, you will have similar protection. Though, I have to admit, my last helmet did lack the Snell sticker, it was an HJC with the integrated sunshade, but after that was torn up a bit, I upgraded to the Arai RX-7.

 

Wow, raising the dead. Not everyone is rich and something is much better than nothing. I actually think that some of those big name brands are way overpriced just because of how they are so main stream. I've been impressed with my Z1R and would choose that or HJC over most. $300+ for a damn helmet that can get stolen in no time is way too high for my blood.

Cheap head, cheap helmet.........
I changed up to Arai as soon as I could afford it........
The HJC's a good lid too, and Shoei X11 is supposed to be the best.
Don't buy a cheap helmet because she likes the colour - not much good telling her that when her head's caved in......harsh, but true.
