My first day back on "The Beast"
Look at my avatar. Take another look. That is my left wrist. On March 26th of this year I purchased a brand-spanking-new Suzuki RMZ450. On March 27th I crashed horribly on it at the local MX track. I spent about an hour on that bike up to that point and not a second more until today. I finally got it put back together ($800) and met some friends out at the dunes to see if could ride it. It was my first time in sand and I was quite shaky at first. It's kind of like the first time you ride a street bike on the steel grating of a bridge only much worse. I rode in a safe and sane manner, didn't take any big jumps and worked on my throttle control and body positioning for control. These skills or rather lack of, are what cost me thousands of dollars much pain and difficulty over the last few months. I feel really good. I got one Hell of a work out too. It's kind of why I bought the bike in the first place, to get me off the couch and get my blood pumping. This bike is awesome! A big plush ***** cat until you twist that right grip. Then "HANG ON"!!! I'm very happy tonight!
Damn son that looks very painful. Sorry you broke your wrist like that and smashed up your day old bike but happy to hear you got back on the beast. I'm kinda jealous that you have a dirtbike and a place to ride it. I grew up on dirtbikes and would love to get another one but there is no where remotely close for me to ride. Stay safe out there. The day is way more enjoyable when you and the bike come back in 1 piece.
