Motorcycle Test

yet another reason for me to avoid texas

Depends on what its like in your state. In Tx, a trooper just looks over your bike, checks licinse, insurance and so on, and you have to provide a "chaser car" for him to ride in, so my wife was there in her car, also checked all the paperwork for her car. the trooper rode with her and he/they just followed me around a quite suburb, honked once for left and twice for right, took about 10min, was just tooling around slow quite streets with no traffic. And of course the written test, no biggie.

It has been said many a time here, but that means it must be true...
...Only two things come from Texas!
Why all the Texas haters? I think its a good deal, you either keep your **** on the road or not.Idiots drive like idiots on two wheels or four. How many times have you ever been out in town and encountered the dreaded "box" Yea I've taken the MSF on every base I've been stationed at and riden all over the US, and despite whatever driving test you take, you either have your stuff together and deserve a license or you don't. I never moved to a state and thought, "Wow, I better keep my eyes peeled, I dunno bout these folks driving tests" c'mon. Maybe I'm reading to far into you guys...............
So if some of you think the cruiser then... how about a 86 700 or 750 yamaha virago or a 91 honda cb750 nighthawk or just the 600 shadow?
Take it on the bike you have that is available, that is the most comfortable for you in tight situations. Or the one you ride the best ect....I'd take it on a Silverwing if I had one. I took a volunteer safety stand-down course one time on a 49cc Yamaha Vino, for ****s and grins, showed up in one piece leathers, and X-11 and on that thing LOL, I got nothing to prove just wanted to have some fun, sure, got laughed at by the I'm so cool Busa crowd but guess who got the best score???????
Wow Wi had no written test. I took my gix 750, there was a quick inspection of the lights and horn. The lady gave me a headset, said just listen for instructions, she was in her own car behind me,and away we went. 5 minutes of easy suburban riding, one emergency stop, and test was over. Could not have been any easier.
