Default A liter bike question.

I WANT ONE!!!!!!! ok maybe not, they are pigs. lol

But who's betting on that 90% of the 1k guys would be ditching their 1000cc for lets say 1250cc if that want the new max....just to keep the biggest ***** extension of course

oh those fighting words! :P

Nope--hell, I only ended up w/ my literbike because it was in my price range and at the right place/right time. I really was looking for a 600 or even (GASP) a GSXR 750

A good running 600 is all you need for the street and I fine with my 600, but if I could get a good deal on a 1000 I would get one. To me it's just nice to have the extra low end power.

I don't think all the liter guys would bump up, but a lot would. An older guy I know has an older 750 form the 70's.He said back in the day it was the fastest bike you could get, and when I let him ride my Ninja 500he said it would blow his 750 away and didn't know why anyone would want something that "powerful". People will always want to push the envelope on horsepower to have the meanest thing on the road, even thoughyou really can't use everything a 600 has to offer on the streets. I wonder how long it will be before a modern 750 is considered a "learner's bike".

I have NO desire to upgrade from my 02 1000. I do however plan on making IT better. A full Brembo kit is going on over the winter. I can't imagine why you would ever need more than what this thing makes now.

The thing that I like the most with the litre bike is the low down power as mentioned above. I find that it's really usefull on the highway to be able to rapidly accelerate from something like 80km/h (50mile/h) in sixth gear to overtake a car. I wouldn't want to go for anything bigger, the size of the bike feels good and it has more than enough power. My father owns the 1100 blackbird and although it's very comfortable for longer rides, I find that it isn't practical for riding in everyday traffic and the weekend ride through the mountains.

If you really wanted a liter bike just for low-rpm power, I think a V-twin is a more practical option. I'm not knockin' you guys that are saying that, but I know you like the 1000's just as much for their high-rpm power as the low "grunt" power.

I love my liter bike(or near liter bike). extra power to get out of the way of idiots. low end power. red lines at 11500 instead of 15000. IMHO stronger trans. etc. etc.
