Internet sucks here too! I had my 4-S tethered, but I was scared to burn up 5gig so I got a clear stick.

Thanks for all the comments and support, guys.

The marines seem to love motorcycles cuz we have to take the classes and all but after that its pretty much it. Well at least in my command.... No glow belts or anything.

Meggers, I feel your pain. I am an MSF instructor and active duty military, but Air Force. The regs are written here in EUCOM to keep soldiers from riding. Basically, if you don't already have an endorsement when you get here, you can't get one. I think the Army is out of control on this one.

I also don't understand why the military invests all this money to train new recruits and then looks for any reason to cut them a year later. INSANE. Talk about lack of fiscal responsibility...
Not coming from a military background, but I have been a hiring manager for a company that basically hired the same age range and education level as a typical new recruit. That 1yr timeframe is just about right to have recognized significant personality or performance flaws, and coached/retrained/disciplined them (in some cases more than once). After a couple of attempts it's time to start considering cutting wheat from chaff. In my business, you just have customers that get screwed over due to an inept employee. In the military, I am guessing the results of having Pvt. Jackhole on you squad, or security detail, or whatever, could have far more serious implications.

Good point. I never really thought of it that way. I guess someone could look awesome on paper, but in reality they are nothing more than an O2 to CO2 converter.

Good judgement in a young man is a difficult thing to find.
