KTM Demo Rides
I rode a couple of KTMs today at the Indianapolis MotoGP. The first ride I had was on a 990 Supermoto R. SAM_2185.jpg?t=1282971891 The second demo ride I took the RC8 out for a spin. SAM_2186.jpg?t=1282971891
I'll spare you an magazine like review as I am no expert... I liked the Supermoto's ability to flick back and forth. I think this would be excellent daily driver / commuter. The upright position was ok but It would take some getting used to from me because I found my left hand going to sleep within the 25 minute ride. The power was there. I rolled on full throttle in 1st once and the front wheel came up quick. I also watched the guy in front of me accidentally (I think) kick the rear out on a right hand 90. I could see myself getting one in the future.
I thought I would really enjoy the RC8 but was unimpressed. The brakes were phenomenal (I bet I could have thrown myself over the bars with just a pinky) . The ride position only slightly more forward than the F4i. I would have loved to redline (10k) it but but even at 7k rpms I thought I would feel more power than my F4i. Its not that I didn't like the bike but I don't see why you would pay $20k for it.
... and it was good to get back on the F4i afterwards
