Insurance on bikes
$469 liability progressive In NJ and I am 18 with no bike license. Clean driving record too. I get 5% off when I get my license WOOT! I also can get a bunch of other discounts too but I don't have the time to go to MSF.
Just got off the phone and Progressive quoted; $1046/yr - comprehensive, $460/yr -Comprehensive with No collision, liability -190/yr. I think i am going to stick with the $1046 if no other insurance company beat that rate. Geico wanted to rape me when i called yesterday ...$2815. Btw thanks guys for the comments and i will keep shopping around to get the best rate. Pics of my 09 600rrABS coming soon!
I pay about $450 a year for full coverage with $500 deductable through State Farm. I have a 93 CBR1000F.
The only catch with State Farm is that they will only insure a bike if you have a car insured with them as well.

With progressive I got quoted for $27 a month and that isn't the bare minimum. Its about $313 if I paid in full. I'm 21 with a clean record (knock on wood) and took the MSF course, which is a huge discount. I got the basic stuff with comprehensive if it gets stolen. I figure if I do wreck it then I'll replace things myself if it isn't that bad. If its bad then I prolly shouldn't be riding anymore.
The MSF course was worth $3.00 for me with progressive. It was 200 versus 197.
The other nice thing about State Farm is they will let you suspend payments on the bike in the Winter!
