installing vortex clip ons help please
ok so i am in the process of fixing my bike. step one getting new clip ons on. i could have got a oem one but with the wieghts in side that also got jacked up it would have cost me just as much if not more than the vortex ones i got through work cheap.
i should have stuck with the oem becuase they have the little thing sticking out to line them up with the upper tripple.
the problem was but i think i fixed is that the way the cables sit. i could not figure out how to get the throttle, switch, and cyclinder on and get the cables to not be tight, stopping the throttle from snapping back. took over 2 hours and i think i have it set up so they are not tight but i have no idea how close to the stock angle the cyclinder is or throttle. i gues that does not matter as long as it is comfortable. but the throttle could be hard to open all the way if its rotated backwards to much. i think the throttle may be pretty close though.
now that i have everything on i realize there is a big problem. there is no hole drilled for the switch to go in to. so when you twist the throttle it twists the tube and switch a little. i thought it would stay put if i tightened the screw enough but no.
so now i have to take off everything and drill the hole. i think it will be a lot easyer to get everything back to where it is now this time thought. i hope.
how do i know where to drill the hole though? i cant see through the switch to see where the peice sticks out to go in to it. i am stumped on how to do this. any one have any idea or tip for me?
also to make sure i have them both at the same angle will measuring the distance from the end of the bar to the gas tank when at full lock on both sides work?
i still do not have the fairings on so who knows if they are going to hit that and have to be readjusted lol.
if anyone has installed these and can help me out please i beg you let me know how you did it. thanks
