Default Icon Field Armor Vest

Anyone here use the icon field armor vest? Im looking into getting one for next summer to ride in since a lot of it is just short 5-10 min rides around town. Soo do any of you use one or something similar?

Ive tried one on and they seem nice. Its mostly for hard impacts though and doesnt offer alot of protection other than your mid section, upper chest and spine.

Me im a little more worried about road rash so i wear my jacket. Although i wouldnt mind wearing the vest underneath for added protection.

I wear one under my leathers for additional spine/back proctection. They are comfortable and seem to hold up well. Mine is going on three years old with no signs of wear.

I'm like cbrfenatic93, I've been tru roadrash a couple of times and don't care for it. When I ride its a leather jacket gloves and good jeans with knee protection. Those knees take a while to heal and I still love stunting ones in a while. Johnnyh

Im just looking for something to protect vital organs against impacts when im taking quick trips around town. I know rash would be a bigger concern at around 20mph collisions but id always take that over a ruptured organ or any internal damage. Id realistically throw that vest on instead of my jacket for 5 min rides during the summer months. If i planned on going any farther or faster id definitely throw a jacket on over top. All last summer i rode in just gloves and a tshirt for quick trips around town but im trying to step it up a little from that since i really wouldnt wear a jacket every time(say what you will). Gloves are always on though and boots are on 80-90% of the time.

I rock one and it held up great when i went down...just scrapes down the spine protector, but no major damage. i recommend it. it doesnt do much for ur arms, but when i fell i kinda just rolled to my back nad just slid down the street like a ninja turtle haha

Another bit of advice.

If you have taken the MSC and have your card still you might be able to get a discount on the vest. I know i can on base where im at but it may work for the dealer as well. Worth a shot.
