I got pulled over last night ...
So I'm leaving the house about 9:30pm for work and heading down my subdivision street. Pass a deputy and think nothing of it really cause I'm not going fast -- too many kids running around (ya, even at 9:30). I see in my mirrors that he's doing all kinds of wierd maneuvers to get turned around and sure enough he hits the blues. I'm thinkin "what the f***!!" So I don't actually pull over but rather stop towards the right side of the street and wait for him. He pulls up, rolls down the wrong window and starts talking. I point to the window and my ear so he starts talking louder. I still can't hear so I use the universal sign language (no not that sign[8D]) for rolling down the window. Ahhhhh, now he figures it out and rolls down the passenger window. He tells me he's sorry he pulled me over. That there was a call about a 16 year old on a bicycle with no helmet. I just looked at him kinda like I didn't understand, because in reality -- I didn't understand. So he apologizes 3 or 4 more times and drives off.
That was just plain wierd. I rode at modestly ludicrous speed the rest of the way to work just to be safe

Man thats retarded. I had a somewhat similar situation. Instead of in a neighborhood, I was at a park, and I had just got back from tubing. I threw my tube in my buddies car then got on my bike to leave. The park roads are all dirt so I was driving very very slowly (like 5-10ish) so I wouldn't spin my tires and throw rocks at people. Right at the entrance/exit of the park there was a sheriff out of his squad car just starring me down, and I was thinking wtf does this guy want? Knowing that I hadn't done anything to get in trouble for I just cruised along (slowly mind you), waived at him, and then all I hear is him telling me to stop? Ok. I stopped and was like well? What? Then he goes off to say that he heard somebody revving up their engine and spinning their tires in the gravel. Then he tells me not to do it again? I'm just thinking, I drove like a grandma for the exact reasons of preventing what he just said I did. I go off and tell him that I just got back from tubing and it wasn't me that was peeling out. Then he goes to say that he never said that I did it, just to not do it again? What is this guy dumb? I just nodded my head and drove off thinking to my self what a f@#cking dick. Why do some cops just have to be ******? I think their authority swells their heads up a bit to much for their own good.

I'm wondering if he might have been hoping you might not stop so he could chase you. I only say this because of his lame excuse. Does your state have bicycle helmet law?

And ya, there is a helmet law for minor children riding bicycles.
sounds like the Monte town police around here, thats ok though, I always seem to find the one state patrol on his Harley and I ride home from and through town with him, makes it hard to get pulled over that way. Sounds very odd thought chainstretcher!
