take it from someone who has smashed several fingers and toes, you need to literally drill a hole in it to relieve the pressure. Your nails actually have no nerves in them, so take a 1/16 or 1/32 drill bit, heat it red hot, let it cool for a second, and then use your fingers and twist it into the nail. You will get to the membrane shortly and then take a small needle and pop the membrane so that the blood can come out. You will probably end up popping that membrane/scab once or twice a day for a week or so but you wont lose the nail and your foot will feel about 10,000 times better. I know this probably sounds wierd but someone can back me up on this I know.

and its damn near impossible to just drop a mag-lite and break it.

You guys are funny. And no, you can't even tell the mag light was dropped. Not a scratch on it. My toe makes a good cushion.

So, the maglite still works though, right?Have you ridden with the busted toe yet?

side note: it's funny how you mentioned jumping around like a crazy man after you did that and the neighbors watching...similar thing happened yesterday when I was flushing out the coolant in the pimp van. I pulled off one of the radiator hoses and busted/bruised the hell out of my knuckle on something and I must have sounded like a sailor. I didn't realized that the new neighbors across the street were out with their 3 little girls. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Done it a few times myself after I mistook my finger for the head of a nail.

Went for a short ride this evening and no problems since it's the brake foot. Gonna give it a better test tomorrow though. [sm=yeahsmile.gif]

This post reminds me of asaying that I love so much: "Life is what happens while you are making other plans..." What are the odds, Fats? You should either play the lottery or make sure you are inside during the next lightning storm! Sounds like you have an OldFatToe...

My son called one night while he was out of state at the tournament and I told him what happened. You know what his response was???

Why does all the interesting stuff happen when I'm gone?

That made me laugh!
