How To Drag Knee
First, do not be attempting to drag a knee on the street. You need to go to a track where an instructor can work with you. You also need to do more reading.
for your own safety, and that of others, stop practicing this technique on the street. did you see the video last week of the guy crossing the line and hitting a biker head on, killing one of them? well that will be you.
secondly, dragging a knee an effect, its not a cause. In other words, draggin a knee is an effect of taking a corner at a high rate of speed, with alot of lean angle.please refer back to the first statement I made, generally, that is a very bad idea on public streets. once you are over that far, at that speed, you are commited to your line know matter who or what happens, and stuff will happen and the result is bad
then there are those riders that think becuase they are dragging a knee, then they are going fast, simply not true. alot of good riders can take a corner faster than someone that is trying to drag a knee. becuase there are two different goals, one is trying to drag a knee and look cool, the other is trying to go fast.
one more major difference can be rider height. guys over 6 ft tall on a little 600 dont have to lean over nearly as far to touch as a shorter person with shorter legs. thats just straight geometry.

if your not reading any racing books or have no experience then seriously dont try. i've been in circumstance where im full lean at 85ish and i see gravel coming up and the turns condensing. you gotta know how to double apex around **** etc.
Didn't plan on it, but was just pissed at the time but...
I brushed my knee lighty making a 50 mph turn onto a three lane street just yesterday. (VIRGINITY GONE...whoop de friggin do da)
I don't recommend doing it on the street, unless it's a backroad with a really really good surface and you know there are no cars or
other obstacles to avoid
Tracks are the best place for that stuff...the other guy are right.
I would explain technique...but that would bring in each expert on the web to tell their version.
Knee draggin is just part of a greater whole. It's really so you don;t have to lean the bike so far over on it's side...so in a sense it's kind of looking cool just to save your ***. It also saves you from scraping hard parts of your bike and allows more cornering speed.
You do have to kind of throw caution to the wind though to get your first taste.

You really don't want to be wearing a helmet when learning to knee drag, the increased wind resistance could cause you to lose control.
