RE: How to drag a knee
It's more a video about body position, but I'm sure if it was titled "a video about proper body position" not as many people would want to watch it...very nice instructions, but they never showed the proper form, but you can look at any professional race picture to see it...getting it is the hard part! A friend of mine told me something that totally hit the mark with me...he said "lead with the chin" and for some reason that sunk in with me, I also try to "look through the mirror..." pretend if your bike is in track trim.
This is my knee puck after my very first drag:
This is my puck after I started getting it right:
I could get my head down more, but this is generally what he's talking about:

Exactly. I know what it's like to have the wrong form. I had it for a long time. Just started dragging a knee myself, yup cool feeling. I dont feel as in control yet but it'll come with practice. I figured if I named it, Proper body positions, you're right, nobody would watch it. It sure is cool the first time you do it.

**disclaimer** Do not try most track techniques on public roads...something could go wrong and you could die...or worse!
If you only move the top of your body then you'll be twisting from the top and your *** will still be on the seat...this will make you sort of top heavy and you'll need more lean angle, resulting in dragging a toe, foot or foot peg...that's bad! Imagine a rod going up your *** straight through to your neck (but don't be all stiff like that)...what I'm getting at is you want to move your body as a unit...slide the upper body and *** off the bike together...get your head as low as you're comfortable with (then get lower)...lead with your chin (look through the turn)...
There's a lot involved in setting up for the turn because you are blipping, downshifting, braking, gauging your entry speed and setting your body position pretty much all at once...it sounds bad until you actually get out and do it.
