Default Honda bike codes

My friend and I are trying to figure out why our F2s have different codes on them.
I am talking about the sticker on the ride side frame un the seat.

My bike says CBR600F2M and his says CBR600F2R.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

In my Haynes it has the codes (California & US models) CBR600F-M (1991) & CBR600F-R (1994)
UK models are the same, so I guess its probably the year, have a look at the compliance plate on the steering head, will give you the dates of manufacture.

Damn I wish I was in Australia...F1 is upon us, woot!

Yeah, Pace is right, the 900RR family has gone thusly, even though we (USA) didn't start until '93:

'92 N, '93 P, '94 R, '95 S, '96 T, '97 V, '98 W, '99 X

600F2's were the same I thought...

They made some changes to the F2 in '94:

wider rear wheel
more adjustments on fork
different passenger pegs
etc
