Wow, really sorry to hear that. Were the ligaments complete tears? I had a total ACL reconstruction, and let me tell you, it was hell.
If for some reason you don't get paid, I think the best course of action would be to burn his house down with him in it. Only fair...

Wow man....that blows. Glad your ok though and hope you heal up quick. Makes me sick that your bike is busted up.

If he was under 18 you can go after his parents. If they own any property you will be able to recupe your losses (money wise). If he was over 18 and the car or insurrancewas under his parents name you can still sue the parents if he has no assets.

My wife is an insurance adjuster and says that you should just get a lawyer. Otherwise you could get screwed by the insurance company. She has seen it too many times.

ta8112 i love that idea of yours. if i cant beat'em in court. i'll just burn his house down. and goddamnit i would! im gonna sue the ****ing pants off this kid so it can pay for my medical bills, a new bike, and my rashed up gear.

and to all you guys out there. i thought i was invincible, and would never go down. but sure as **** i did. just like that, in an instant my bike was totalled and i was injured and left unconscious in the middle of nowherel, pinned under the bike. " They say there are bikers that have been down, and bikers that WILL go down" . and tonight that statement proved itselft yet again. be careful out there, and never let your guard down. because even that wont save you sometimes

WOw! Glad to hear you're not worse. That kid will get what's coming to him. What a coward...fleeing from an accident he caused.
