It is quite a scene to watch the oil flow back out. It goes so fast and there is nothing you can do.

I did the same thing. I got a little over anxious...

BUT ...

I think my worst Here's your sign moment is when I left my password to my bank account out and my wife found it, logged in, and found out I had been secretly putting money in there. DAMN!!! She took it well though...

How about jacking your car up to change the oil, then forgetting to put the emergency brake on? (GUILTY). What makes it worse is that my jack has wheels on it, so the car rolled down the driveway with me chasing after it. What makes it MORE "worseful" is the neighbors witnessed the whole thing. [:@]

Hah, I've done that with my car (filling it with oil with no drainplug in, not letting it roll away on a jack). It was around 2am, had finally finished a turbo swap, trying to get it all put back together because I needed to be somewhere in the morning, and all my oil goes floating down the driveway. Fortunatly there's a super wal-mart right down the road, ran down there, bought oil, ran back, and had it all back together before the sun came up. Lesson learned though, I now keep extra oil, and all sorts of handy things around like bungie cords, coolant, and JBWeld laying around in the garage. Murphy's law like someone said, you know, just in case...

at least you didn't ride the thing without oil in it.
at least you didn't strip the crankcase bolt.
at least you didn't crossthread anything
at least you didn't....

All in all, it wasn't that bad of a mistake, was it?

Some friends were over at my house partying one night. We were drunk and in the garage, and I had just gotten a new riding lawn mower. I was trying to show my friend it's 12HP motor (we like to act like rednecks when we're drunk). I lifted the hood, and the gas line caught on the edge of the hood. The line ripped from the side of the motor, spilling gas all over the garage. My entire house smelled like gas for 2 days. We had to constantly leave the windows open and fans running to get rid of it.
