Default helpin a noob

my neighbor has a gsxr, hes already wrecked it once when we went out riding, he took it well, his bike and he are both fine, anyway he went out to ride the other day and his ****in key wont turn, hes a noob and i dont want him to get discouraged and not ride this season because of little ****, what could cause his key to not turn, what can we do to fix it

Make sure it's in all the way.
It he locked the steering, try applying pressure left then right on the handle bars while turning the key. That MAY be the deal.

i agree. sometimes if its in the lock position you need to push it a certian way and then try and turn the key.. if its in normal operating position idk

When he crashed it, did he bend anything, like the key or the lock barrel or something?

yeah sometimes when mine is locked i really need to wrestle with it. are the bars locked or just that the key wont turn? try putting the key in and turning it to "on" while trying to turn the bars at the same time.

no hes rode it alot since the wreck, it barly rased the fairings

Mine did that a few times, and I got stuck at a grocery store for about fifteen minutes once, trying to figure it out. In my case, the very top piece of sheet metal on the lock housing can spin around independantly so the keywill not actually engage with the barrel portion of the lock unless they are lined up. Does that make any sense? Have him jimmy with it.
