helmet sizing question.

helmet sizing question.
Hey what's up cbrforum? Hopefully this is the right section for this. If not you can move it.
I'm looking to buy a HJC helmet. According to there sizing chart a small is between 21 5/8" - 22" and a medium is 22 1/2" - 22 7/8". I can only compare to my dirtbike helmet. Which is a small. I mean I can wear that helmet with no issues but its older and worn in. It fits tight but not overly tight. My head size is 22 1/4. So I'm not sure if I should buy a medium or a small. Anyone have any insight? I normally have short hair if that helps any.

Don't buy a helmet online unless you've tried it on already. I'm REALLY glad I didn't buy mine online, I had to try on at least 10 helmets to find a good, comfortable one. Pro tip: Don't buy a cheap helmet. It will fit and feel like crap. I opted for a Shoei, which luckily was discounted because it was last year's model, I ended up paying $250 for it, and it fits beautifully (and the padding is much nicer), while all the HJC helmets I tried fit either too big or too small, and were really uncomfortable in general.

I second that. My first helmet was an HJC and I ordered a size too big and it was really uncomfortable, felt like it was going to pull me off the back of the bike everytime I turned my head on the highway.
I suggest going to a shop and trying on a couple, then you'll have an idea of what fits and feels right. Or check into their return policy, if they'll take returns you can flip a coin and pick one, then if it doesn't work you can exchange it.
