Fat is a solid at room temperature. The melting point of the fat will depend on the chemical composition of the fat (i.e. what animal or part of the body it came from). It would definitely take more than just warm water to melt fat.
One way to certainly avoid plaque buildup in your arteries is to limit your consumption of fatty meats. Try not to eat more than 6oz of red meat at a time, and no more than 3 or 4 servings of red meat per week, Always trim the extra fat from the meat before cooking. It's better to eat lean meats such as fish and turkey as your source of protein.
Meats are also sources of bad cholesterol (HDL), so reducing your meat intake coupled with regular cardiovascular exercise will keep your cholesterol low, thus keeping your arteries elastic and healthy.

what the hell does drinking soda have to do with fat besides the fact that you give yourself and insulin spike so you're body wants to store more of it.
