Great bikes of yesterday, true icons!!
I still love the Smokin Joe bikes.. 98 would be my favorite year..

I wouldnt mind having a pristine one of those to go next to the F4... and then a 2000 ZX6R (hey.. why not.. since I'm dreaming)

Lately I've been wanting to buy a rusted out bike, tear it down, and build it back up into one of those (now trendy) cafe racers.
Pretty much what I'd like to have as an end result:

However, that thing would pretty much sit as my sunday drive, 500 miles a year, possible garage queen more than a daily mount.
For a daily, I'd like one of those vaunted R7s.

I love that original F1 in the red/white/blue :-)
This is really for any bike that was a bit of a cult or a milestone in biking history and the GSXRs were definitley it, modern classics I suppose we can call them ... my brother had one of the very early original 1985 versions before he bought a Kawasaki GPX750, but I always thought it looked a bit boxy, now it looks very dated, but the later 1989 GSXRs I loved the look of them ...

This was the day I "rode" my first bike home, a 1985 Honda Nighthawk which I bought (stole) off my neighbors Dad for $800. After I put in a new battery, fresh gas, and a clutch, I rode her for a year. Great Bike: Inline 650 Four; 10,500 RPM redline. Although shaft driven, it had VERY respectable giddiap. That WAS a smooth bike I have to say. Sold it for $2250, to my brother-in-law, AFTER buying my 600RR. Wish they were still sitting next to each other! D'oh!
