lol..yep i just looked at it and that is what i was going to post....essentially the lights don't come on until the bike is started according to the diagram and uses the alt and starter circuit to turn on the lights which would come AFTER the bike is kicked on...then after the alt goes away...the supplied power to the headlights keeps the em on until the bike is turned off...

actually its a very quick and simple solution...i will likely do this....make HIDs much much more stable and add life...now it's just a matter of figuring out a relay to use to do this....hmmm...

I would guess the 250's relay would not be powerfull enough for two headlights???? Tons of 250 parts on sleezbay. I wonder if the new 250's still do it.

I looked at the F4i wiring diagram and the low beam is not on a relay, only the high beam is, so one would have to be added. Power comes from the R/R to the fuse block to the start switch. When you press the start switch it open the low beam circuit and closes the starting circuit. I plan on putting a relay after the starter switch and wiring it like the diagram above. Low beam will not come on until the engine is started and the start switch is released. Once I get my HID kit this will then close the relay from that and pull the power straight from the battery.

I took the entire wiring diagram color coded the wires for the low beam, and added how I would add the additional relay. Only thing I'm not sure of is why the 250 diagram says "To Alternator Single AC Phase" and if there is any difference in the three wires the come off the F4i alt.

Voltage on the three yellow wires is 6.3 @ idle and the relay I have only needs 5 to close so it's a go. I am going to try and do this in the next week or two.

Finished this up tonight, seems to work perfectly. Total time including the soldering was about three hours. I'll get the pics I took put up and maybe make a how to thread.
