Got a Blackberry Pearl 8130...
I have the 8320 Curve ... WiFi is good for data, but on this phone it also works like VoIP for cell phones... so if I go somewhere there's no signal, and I find WiFi I can jump online in literally 5 seconds and then have a signal again. No matter where you are in the world, if there's WiFi you're good!
You Blackberry guys should check out the BlackBerry Video Converter (http://www.seabyrdtech.com/bbvideo) it will let you take full length DVDs and convert them to a relatively small (200-400 MB) file that you can watch on any new Blackberry. All you have to have is the DVD at some point. The software is for the moderately tech savy. I suggest upgrading to a 2 or 4 gb memory card to hold more movies, but for example a 1 gig would work for at least 2-3 movies and some pics and music.
If you don't already have a memory card, and don't wanna fork over the cash at the store you bought your phone from, NewEgg.com is a great website get anything cheap. Here's some memory cards for example. http://www.newegg.com/store/SubCateg...k=memory+cards
Finally, if you don't already have a BlackBerry, and are thinking about upgrading, www.Amazon.com is simply the cheapest if you're eligible to upgrade or are thinking about switching providers. Currently you can get any AT&T phone (except the iPhone) for 1 penny right now, and if you're interested in other service providers instead, they offer discounts for most everybody. T-Mobile carries the Curve with VoIP calling. They also carry the 8120 (Pearl with VoIP) and 8820 (Full keyboard, GPS with VoIP).
