Girl just got her 1st bike....
Yeah, I bought my girl a bike, then sold it and gave her my old F3.
I've gotta admit that while it's cool at first, I like to have my time. And generally, that means spending $30 a night in gas with the boys. It's just not the same when you're girl is around.

I agree Kid. I love riding with my gal, but if I know it is going to be a serious ride, I just tell her I am ging with the boys. That way we can be guys, and ride more aggressively than with her (being a new rider).

Now I hear she is selling her bike and she has only had it for a year. What a waste really. Kinda pisses me off.

Thats her bike that she is selling after only 1 year of riding it.
I notice a lack of dedication with my wife. While she is far beyond most wifes dedication level, she is a fair weather rider. She only wants to ride in perfect conditions...not too hot, not too cold. That is okay, though. I agree with D that time on the bike is solely "ME" time. It allows me to get lost and have a spiritual experience. When I ride with my wife, I love that we have another thing to share, but I am overwhelmed with keeping track of her, and I am CONSUMED with her safety. I know I can handle myself, but I can't ride for her. If she got hurt, I would loose it...that is foremost on my mind, and that detracts from my overall enjoyment. I just want her to get better, so she becomes one of the guys. Maybe when we are on a rife in several years from now, I will be more comfortable with her being on a bike...probably not, though.
