I thought this would work on my wife, so I went into the garage and stabbed my rear tire with a nail. I giggled with glee as it hissed itself flat, and I saw visions of stands and dual-compound tires dancing in my head.
10 minutes later, my wife tells me that I'm an idiot and she guesses I won't be riding for a while.

Sorry Tennessee [:@]...My wife did take some convincing on the tires at first. She kept asking why I don't plug the tire...I explained about how little contact area there is for abike versus a car, and how having a blow out could be poor for my health. Are you going to change out both tires? Whatdo you think you'll get?

My previous post was a jest... sorry if it didn't come across that way. I would never under any circumstances do anything to purposefully hurt my bike. I probably won't need new rubber until next season!

Nope! I'm married so I don't have to wear a raincoat any more!

Voodoo, post up some pics of your bike on the stands. Does your local shop carry them, or do you have to order them?

I ordered them through Metricbikes, yesterday. Homeslice said they would process the order today, but probably wouldn't geton a truckuntil Friday or Monday...then I have a 5-7 day wait for delivery. The local Screwyouki...I mean Suzuki shop had a set of "Suzuki" race stands for about $200ish. I asked him if they were made by somebody else, but he didn't know. I wasn't sure about them so I decided to go with the Pitbulls. I'll post up some pics when I get my goodies

Better yet, strategically place the new tires around your wife so she won't have to wear a bikini...
