Default Gettin' lost?

So now that my buddy bought his F4i, we've been talking about the trips we're gonna be taking this Spring and Summer.

We're gonna make some runs down south in Branson, and general Southern Missouri. For those of you within400-500 miles and have never been, check out the roads in Southern Missouri. Two-lane twisties that climb and drop in elevation instantly for as far as the eye can see. I already can't wait to snap some photos at the crest of some of those bluffs... fun.

Anyway, do any of you guys know of a trip plannes that accurately displays scenic route results? We might try and make it in one day (about 450 miles), but maybe two. Who knows, I just want a super-scenic, hilly, twisty route and I want something that will give me my answer...

Thanks!

I have a Garmin GPS unit that you can set for scenic routes. I have not used it yet on my bike but I used it for the trip from Indy to Alamogordo. Real nice unit. Comes with a 128MB micro SD card but I upgraded to a 1G card and now I have the entire US and parts of Canada on it. I paid like $275 for it.

What you got there? An F2?

If so, how would you mount it - is there a place where you're gonna put it? What about mapbooks?

I have an F2. It comes with a suction cup mount. I was thinking about on the tank near the handle bars or on my windscreen since I can not see through it.

I use MapPoint and just look at the routes on the screen to pick my twistie roads. Generally works pretty well. Once I have a general route picked out, I put it into my GPS. That way, if I see something that looks like a better road while I'm riding, I can easily follow it and the GPS keeps me from getting lost.

I live in the St. Louis area and have been through some of the roads in Southwest Missouri and there are some good ones. I've ridden to Branson a couple times and just took some day trips down into and around the Arkansas border. Beautiful country.
