Default gettin tires of this #$%@

Ok I have some question to some problems. I just bought a bike. Its my only way I get around I have had it for about two weeks now and still have to take the bus to work every day. So this is my story of the bike. Got it from a friend it ran fine nine months ago when he park it. Its a 98 cbr f3. Now it would not start when I got it I put a new retifire regulator in it I got it to start right up. I drove it down the block a few times and it died no power still. I charge the bat try to take it to work the next morn I mike it about 10min to the freeway and it dies. It will not start. I sat their crank her over about ten fifteen times I kill the bat. Push her five blocks home. Bye a new bat charge it over night. Try it again. I make it to work this time yes. I'm happy. So I go to start her right off I turn it off to show her off to people at work the bat is dead. ****. Means the stator is bad. So I charge the bat for eight hours well I'm workin. Time to go home it running fun. Jump on the freeway and right before my exit. Its cutting out on me to I floor it. And still rpm are just going down. I pull over and try to startd the bike for a bout three min. It turns over stron. But nothing. I'm pist start pushing her for about five min I get tired try to start her and after about five trys she startd and I make it home about quarter mile down the road and it dies again. So I let her sit try and try to start her nothing. Now before I go any further. The choke on the bike is not wear it should be. Its just a cabel bye the pitlock and it works but you can turn it both ways and it will not stop. So I'm pist off turrning the ****ing thing floding the bike then it breaks. Its still turns but don't do ****. So I go and get a gollon of gas **** with it a few more times it starts Any way I think it broke with the choke shut. Cause I get the bike to start and once I let off the gas it diea but fires right up after doing so. So I order the sator have not going it yet. But the bike as been sittin for three days now. And today I wanted to ride her down the street to get some smoke. Now the store will take me ten min to walk to. Well after about ten trys she starts. And I'm thinkin that's normal for no choke. I let her iddel for about a few min and I put her in gear and I go. And did not make it to the store!!! But right before I left it felt like the tank was bubbelin?? Idk. So any way the bikw will not start now. I'm pist I need a smoke. I walk to the store bye some smokes. Smoke a cig. Walk back bike fires right up. Wtf. So my question. Did I flood her do to the coke. And should I hear a fuel pump one I turn the key on cause I don't. And is it cause it sat for so long I need a tun up. Are should I wait tell I put the stator in.

Wow long post. How old is the gas in the tank? Did you put fresh gas in it since you got it or is it still the gas from 9 months ago? Pull the plugs and see if they are fouled. Is this carbed or fuel injected? If it's has a carb then you will not here the fuel pump because there is not one. Also charge your battery over night on a slow charge, then put the battery back in and start the bike. With the bike running and with a volt meter see what the voltage is. Should be around 13.5 to 14 volts running and 12.5 volts shut off.

if its a 98 he does have a fuel pump.I were you i would clean the carbs and change the plugs reguardless of how someone else had it running!2. get yourself the right cable,or cables you need.3.change you gas!dont mix with the old stuff.it will save yourself SOME headache knowing that once the basic tune is done you can pin point the problem from there. just my two cents.good luck with the bike!

I only hear noise from my fuel pump if I don't turn on the tap & it starves for fuel (knocking sound). All the carb fitted bikes have a different start up procedure. When my bikes cold I don't touch the throttle, don't turn on the fuel, full choke & she starts up 1st stab of the button every time. If I don't, fer example, no choke, fuel on, she goes to start, farts & then its a 20 second crank of the motor to get her going.
Your bike sounds like its dying for a carbie tune & some TLC. Only time my 98 let me down was when the reg shat itself & she ran like a pig. Even with a new (& better) reg replacement, she still needed a tune.

I had an '81 KZ440. Wouldn't start. I knew there was gas in the tank because I could hear it sloshing. I pushed it across town to a friend's house so he could look at it. It took a minute for him to start it. I was out of gas and did not know about the petcock.
