I would recommend the XBOX 360 over the PlayStation 3, even though the PS3 is able to play Blu-ray.

Everyone should own a PS3 for one simple reason. Gran Turismo 5, that is once it comes out. I play Madden, COD, GTA, etc but IMO there is not better game than the Gran Turismo series and I don't think GT5 will disappoint. Not to mention blu-ray, built in wireless, and free online game play. Now I will admit that xbox live has a greater following but I would never pay for it but then again I am not a huge fan of playing online. Also every single person that I know that has an 360, it has broke and they had to send it in. Everyone I know with a PS3 never 1 problem.

I bought an original 60g PS3 from release. At the time it was th cheapest bluray player on the market. AND it played games, streamed media from my computer and browsed the web!

Today it still plays games, a firmware update lets it play 3d blurays / PS3 games and it has Netflix as well. Easily comparable to standalone bluray players that don't play games.

I have had both and would play either i just like the controller for the ps3. Better but since black ops and all other cod's have been released for both consoles either will work for me. And the has been a long time debate since the release of both consoles but the new upgraded better consoles should be out in 2012 yea a year away but its a brand new debate

I own the 360 and love it. The controller sells it to me I can't hold the ps3 controller bc it's just too small. Plus the online is a lot better. Altho I would own both if I could. Blu ray looks awesome.
